🐈⬛ Shanghai Opera House Opens with Fan-Shaped Roof
The Shanghai Opera House was completed after six years, covering 146,000 square meters on the Huangpu riverbank, the former site of Expo 2010. The building features a dramatic spiral roof designed to resemble a Chinese fan, which is also accessible as a viewing platform overlooking the city skyline.
Designed by Norway's Snøhetta and China's ECADI, the complex includes four halls. The largest, Harmony Hall, has one of Asia's biggest stages at 3,500 square meters with China's first six-block stage system, allowing rapid scene changes during performances.
