🤖Humanoid Robots Are Here

Imagine a worker who never tires, never complains about heat or cold, and can keep going day after day with the same output. That’s the promise behind Boston Dynamics’ Atlas, a fully bipedal robot that could soon be sharing a factory floor with humans.

Atlas stands 6.2 ft tall with 56 independently controlled joints, can reach almost 8 feet, routinely lift 66 lb, and handle up to 110 lb. It operates from 4°F to 104°F and can swap its own battery every 3 to 4 hours to keep working with minimal downtime.

Will robots like this replace human workers? What would our world look like if humanoid robots took over monotonous jobs? Would it stay at those types of jobs are bleed into everything?

⚡️Biometrics at Credit Unions

If you have walked into a credit union out of state lately, you may have hit a new hurdle. Before the teller lets you deposit cash, withdraw funds, or update account info, you are asked to enroll in IDCheck and scan your faceprint.

IDCheck is already active at 5,600 credit union branches nationwide. Any teller transaction out of state can require enrolling.

Credit unions rely on shared services networks. The biggest is Velera, formerly PSCU, and its Co Op network includes 30,000 plus ATMs and 5,600 shared branches. Fraud prevention is the excuse. The result is financial geo locking.

⚡️EU/U.S Biometric Travel Agreement

The EU approved negotiations with the U.S. to build a shared framework for exchanging travel data, including biometrics like facial images and fingerprints. The decision was made without public debate, then presented as a “security partnership.”

Each member state can opt in. Denmark says it will not participate, and Ireland will also sit out. Meanwhile, the European Commission has already set up a committee to negotiate the data sharing terms.
