Advanced Rescue Technique : Rappelling on Tensioned ropes
Situation: A rappeller becomes stranded on the rope and is unable to continue descent.
Scenario Constraints: No additional ropes are available in this case. The most efficient method is to rappel directly down the tensioned ropes while the stranded rappeller is suspended from them.
Objective: This technique demonstrates the sheer amount of friction generated within the system and evaluates its actual viability in an emergency situation.
Load Specifications:
Stranded person's weight: At least 100 kg (approx. 220 lbs).
Rescuer's weight: 56 kg (approx. 123 lbs).
