🇫🇷🇸🇦🇾🇪⚡️ — France’s Navy frigate Languedoc shot down a drone approaching the French-owned container ship CMA CGM Champs Elysées in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait on October 1, Le Monde reports.

The LNG-powered vessel, capable of carrying 23,000 containers, was being escorted through the strait and Red Sea when it was forced to change course and speed. The French military confirmed that the frigate used its naval gun to destroy the approaching drone.

France says it is actively protecting Saudi oil infrastructure under an existing agreement.
