The Irrawaddy reports that the Junta has been trying to land troops on Ngapyi Island, an island in the mouth of the Kaladan river
A source from the AA told the Irrawaddy that since October 7th attempts have been made every day to establish a foothold
6 warships are off the coast of the island and release 10 speedboats with which the troops are landed on the island
None of the landings have been successful and every time the Junta troops had to retreat back to their ships after suffering casualties
The reasoning why the Junta wants the island back so desperately isn't exactly known however it's likely so they can threaten the flank of the advancing Arakan Army who via the control of the island has blocked off entry of the junta's ships into the Kaladan river
