🇴🇲🇦🇪🇮🇱⚡️ — FlyDubai co-pilot Hamam al-Hammami reportedly planned his attempted attack on a Tel Aviv-bound flight months in advance and nearly carried it out during an earlier flight in July before reconsidering, according to WSJ.

Investigators say the Omani national deliberately sought employment with an airline flying to Israel and requested FlyDubai’s Dubai–Tel Aviv route. He told investigators that his actions were motivated by the situation in Gaza.

His plan was to incapacitate the captain and crash the aircraft into a target such as Ben Gurion Airport. He abandoned the attempt in July because he cared about one of the crew members aboard.

Hammami later attacked the captain of Flight 1073 with a cockpit crash axe and sent the aircraft into a dive before passengers and crew regained control.
