🇮🇱🇵🇸⚡️ — Armed Israeli settlers attacked 58-year-old AFP photographer Jaafar Ashtiyeh while he was covering violence against Palestinian olive farmers near Aqraba in the occupied West Bank.

Ashtiyeh was repeatedly struck with rifle butts as he tried to enter a clearly marked press vehicle, leaving him with injuries to his head and torso that required hospitalization.

The attackers also took his camera equipment. Another Palestinian was shot in the foot, while fellow AFP photographer John Wessels was threatened at gunpoint.

AFP said Israeli soldiers were positioned nearby but did not intervene. The agency condemned the assault and called for a full investigation into the attack and the soldiers’ failure to act.
