🇧🇬⚡️ — Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev said two commercial vessels were hit by drones Tuesday in Bulgaria’s exclusive economic zone (EEZ), about 80 miles (128 kilometers) off the coast.

The Togo-flagged Alfa Watan suffered critical structural damage and sank, with the fate of its crew unknown. The Palau-flagged Able caught fire, and all 18 crew members were evacuated by a Bulgarian ferry. Two sailors suffered severe injuries and were flown to a hospital in Varna.

The origin of the drones has not been established.

The incident marks the first time commercial vessels have been attacked in the Black Sea EEZ of a NATO member.
