🇩🇰⚡️ — Denmark has suffered a major cybersecurity breach exposing the personal data of 8.8 million people after hackers gained unauthorized access to the country’s national population registry.

The compromised information includes names, addresses and CPR numbers, including records belonging to people who have died or emigrated.

Denmark’s registry contains information on roughly 11 million people despite the country having a population of around six million.

The attackers gained entry by compromising a Danish company with legitimate access to the registry.

An investigation is underway, and authorities have not identified those responsible.
