🇸🇴🏳️🇮🇱⚡️ — Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud told Al Jazeera that Somalia will not accept an Israeli presence on its territory “under any circumstances,” and said Israel is planning to establish a naval base in Berbera and use the Somaliland city’s airport.

Mohamud claimed Israel’s objective is to gain greater proximity to the Gulf states and Iran and linked the plans to the “Greater Israel” project.

Mohamud also said Israel remains the only country to recognize Somaliland and claimed Somaliland’s population opposes an Israeli presence.

He accused Israel of destabilizing the region and said attempts to transfer Middle Eastern conflicts to Somalia “will not succeed.”
