🇸🇦🇾🇪❌🇾🇪 — Reuters, citing six West Asian and Western officials, reports the Saudi Arabian Armed Forces is planning a joint Saudi-PLC counteroffensive aimed at retaking Yemeni territory recently captured by Ansarallah.

Two options are being considered; an offensive focused on recapturing the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, or a broader offensive involving Saudi/PLC attacks against Ansarallah-controlled al-Bayda, Ma'rib, Ta'izz, and al-Jawf governorates.

The offensive would be supported by a mobilization of up to over 100000 PLC ground forces, with Royal Saudi Air Force airstrike support. The offensive would be supervised by the Saudi Arabian Armed Forces.

Sources differ on when the offensive could start; it could start anywhere from next week to after the U.S. midterm elections in early November.
