๐ท๐บโ๐บ๐ฆ โ NYT, citing two sources present at a meeting in Paris, France two weeks ago between Ukraine's Minister of Energy Denys Schmyal and European officials, reports Schmyal presented an intercepted Russian document written in August detailing Russian plans for strikes against Ukrainian energy infrastructure this winter.
The document reportedly states that Russia plans to use up to one thousand missiles, UAVs, and bombs to strike a wide range of Ukrainian energy infrastructure, including the Rivne, Khmelnytskyi, and South Ukraine nuclear power plants. Russia plans to shut down Ukraine's three nuclear power plants by firing missiles at its electrical switchyards. Russia also plans to launch dozens of ballistic missiles and glide bombs towards Ukrainian water targets.
The goal is reportedly to cut off major Ukrainian cities from heat, power, and water. The main targets are Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Odesa, where it is planned to cut electricity and heating by 90% and severely disrupt the water sewage system.
