During a private Oval Office meeting with Elon Musk in December 2025, Trump spent hours questioning Musk’s Grok chatbot about his presidency, legacy and Venezuela. He asked how Venezuelans might respond if the U.S. captured Nicolás Maduro, and Grok predicted that many would celebrate his removal.

After Trump ordered the operation to seize Maduro the following month and celebrations followed, officials said the episode left Trump particularly impressed by Grok’s capabilities.
