🇵🇭🇨🇳⚡️ — The Philippine Coast Guard says it drove away a Chinese maritime militia vessel and 24 small fishing boats operating inside the territorial waters of Kota Island in the Kalayaan Island Group on Monday.

The PCG noted the Chinese CMMV 9622 deployed the 24 boats about 1.2 nautical miles northwest of the island, with some later fishing within 300 yards of shore.

A five-person PCG team approached and challenged the vessels, prompting the mothership and all 24 boats to withdraw without incident.
