🇺🇸🇮🇷⚡️ — Two Iran-linked oil supertankers seized by U.S. forces earlier this year are approaching the U.S., where authorities intend to confiscate the vessels and their cargoes, according to Bloomberg.

The Tifani and Majestic X, also known as Phonix, were boarded near Sri Lanka in April. Both have recently been tracked sailing near Brazil, while a third intercepted tanker, Lenore, is also heading west across the Atlantic.

U.S. authorities have initiated forfeiture proceedings against the first two vessels, which were carrying approximately 4 million barrels of Iranian crude. The three tankers have a combined cargo capacity of 6 million barrels, worth nearly $600 million at current prices.

If the ships reach American ports, they would bring the first Iranian oil to the U.S. since 2023. Washington could subsequently sell the seized vessels and their cargoes through its asset forfeiture process.
