🇦🇪🇮🇱🇵🇸⚡️ — NYT has corroborated an earlier Haaretz report that UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed privately warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Hamas was preparing a major attack before October 7, 2023.

Records of an October 1 security meeting show Netanyahu made no reference to the warning and instead favored keeping Gaza calm, despite proposals from security officials to target senior Hamas figures.

The warning, which came in September, never reached Israel’s security leadership.

Netanyahu has previously rejected the Haaretz report, insisting he received no such warning and that any intelligence from the UAE would have been forwarded through official channels.
