REA (Reverse Engineer Anything), the fastest-rising repo, uses AI agents to clone closed-source software

Rob Shocks explains how REA connects AI coding agents to reverse-engineering tools so they can inspect software without its source code. A coding agent can use what it learns to build a new implementation or similar feature; REA itself doesn’t build the software or recover the original source. The approach reduces the effort needed to inspect binaries—and makes safe, authorized use essential.
