OpenAI, Anthropic and DeepSeek take AI safety to the UN Security Council

OpenAI, Anthropic and DeepSeek brought competing AI powers into the same United Nations Security Council briefing on September 23, warning that increasingly capable systems could improve themselves, evade human control and create international-security risks. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman also urged governments to establish benchmarks for measuring model capabilities and corporate safeguards.
