Office metadata can expose more than users see—clean it before sharing

A Microsoft Office file can reveal its author, revision history, internal project details, comments, or hidden content even when the visible document looks finished. For system administrators, the practical risk is greatest when Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files leave the organization—especially documents generated or managed through SharePoint and Microsoft 365 workflows.
