MOSCOW, June 2024 (Reuters) - Russia's 2026 elections are the most challenging in the past decade due to tension and external influence, the Central Election Commission (CEC) said on Monday.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that Kyiv failed to disrupt the elections.

The ruling United Russia party is leading in the State Duma elections, with final results expected no earlier than Sept. 25, the CEC added.
