Still blown away by these engravings. Rhombus and zig zag shapes in contrast to the spirals of megalithic rock art. This Beaker folk art was from the interior side of one of four stone slabs forming the cist of a high status male burial in Scotland.

The Indo-European Migrations: The Single Grave Culture animated
The Single Grave Culture is a member of the larger Corded Ware Complex. This Culture represents the material heritage of the Indo-Europeans in Northern Europe, later becoming ancestral to Germanic speakers and possibly others.
This animation was not made with AI, it was made based off of archaeological material, carbon dated sites and relative chronological inference. A full breakdown will be posted soon. This is a WIP, part of a much larger video encompassing the entire Corded Ware migration, and the Indo-Europeans as a wohle. You are going to see more videos in this channel soon, so stay tuned.
I didn't realise that the idea Bell Beakers were an extension of Corded Ware culture and not of a Portuguese innovation is actually pretty old and predates the DNA evidence by a long way.The following was published in 1997:
βLike the Corded Ware vessels, these Bell Beakers were also typically placed in single male burials, often accompanied by weaponry and covered by a circular mound. They thus represent a diaspora of continental north-west European practices among largely alien populations, carrying the aggressive, individualizing ideology of this area to new parts of Europe. Whereas Corded Ware beakers were usually buried with stone battleaxes, Bell-Beakers are generally found with other weapons: daggers, and archery equipment such as triangular barbed-flint arrowheads and wrist guards of fine stone...This martial image was perhaps completed by leather jerkins and later by woven fabrics, held by a belt with an ornamental stone/bone ring to secure it...Early Bell-Beakers display the cords and thongs that distinguished their Corded Ware predecessors; perhaps the later zone ornament, too, is significant, for the Greek word zone means a belt, and the elite of Greek warriors are still evzones, 'the well-belted ones', while black belts still symbolize prowess in the martial arts. The imagery of third-millennium Europe was replete with such symbols, and Bell-Beaker graves expressed the warrior values appropriate to a more mobile and opportunistic way of life.β

This is a corded pot of the single grave culture. Looks like a bell beaker. These people were the ancestors of the Bell Beaker folk, yet for some reason archaeologists don't recognize this pottery as the origin of bell beakers.
Instead they have a convoluted narrative of how the pots passed from Morocco to Lisbon and were adopted by the Bell beaker invaders of Iberia and somehow magically adopted by all other Beaker folk from Scotland to Germany!
Had a horrible night. My daughter had breathing difficulties and had to be taken to hospital in the middle of the night. Paramedics were very good.
Woden, the healer who mended Pholβs horse, who slew the wyrm so that it fell into 9 parts, who banishes the dwarf that causes sickness, answered our prayers. She is fine now.
The remote and desolate Exmoor set a breed of Bronze Age ponies apart - bred to be hardy- they withstand the sleets, damp fogs, hail and ice. The land shapes the blood.
The BBC has been begging the government to make it mandatory for remote controls to include a bbc button next to the netflix etc buttons. I have a better idea.

Blakeβs βThe Spiritual Form of Nelson Guiding Leviathanβ depicts a vision of the hero of Britain in a mythic context standing atop the biblical sea monster the Leviathan, which coils around ten trapped figures representing nations defeated by Britain during the Napoleonic Wars.
