You may notice that demand for Data Engineers 🛠 who are capable to work with ML team👨‍🔬 👩‍🔬 is growing.

No one expect, that you have to run complex ML models, but you should be able to understand the business problem context, ML terminology, general model types and be able to prepare data for downstream ML team as well as help to deploy the model into production as a part of Data Engineering infrastructure 🏗 .
