GREED: $0 ‘Scam’ That Exposed Crypto’s FOMO Trap 🤣
Meme coin frenzy turns rational humans into gamblers — and one social experiment exposed just how far greedy traders will go for imaginary gains.
In 2023, Solana developer Ivor "Voshy" Ivosevic watched as social media users:
❌ Handed over X (then Twitter) posting rights to claim a worthless token
❌ Signed suspicious wallet transactions (55,306 wallets!)
❌ Ignored every red flag — including the creator’s own warnings like “the only people getting rich from tokens are founders.”
🙈 When GREED Backfires
“Are you guys ready for $GREED?” That late-night tweet was an ironic take on the garbage token craze — but Voshy woke up to 2,000 more followers and leaned in, hyping up the non-existent token.
🤣 Inundated by hundreds of DMs, he saw offers adding up into the seven figures as the "presale" approached.
On the airdrop day, the "victims" received 8,007,320,330 GREED tokens… permanently frozen. That amount matched the SEC’s hotline number — and when users claimed $GREED, their Twitter accounts auto-posted an embarrassing warning.
