😱 $60K Live-Stream Crypto Heist... With a Twist!
We all know that sharing private keys online is a no-no. At SUMEX, we champion self-custody — but even when you do control your keys, you must store them safely! One streamer's story is a bizarre cautionary tale with an (almost!) happy ending.
🎥 In 2023, Brazilian crypto streamer Ivan Bianco (aka Fraternidade Crypto) accidentally exposed his MetaMask seed phrase live on YouTube while trying to access a gaming password. Within minutes, $60K in MATIC was drained from his wallet.
Now here's the twist!
😱 Amazingly, the thief then returned $50K out of guilt (!), proving that even in crypto’s wild west, some thieves have a conscience.
But that last $10K is still missing — and now a lesson for us all. Bianco kept the video up as a warning, and we’re glad he did. This story isn’t just about a streamer’s slip-up, it's a wake-up call for everyone.
💬 Storing seed phrases in a text file? Bad idea. Displaying them on screen? Even worse. So tell us: How do you store your keys? (And please… don’t say “in a screenshot” 😅)
