The HCGEC is an international essay competition for high school students (ages 13–18). It is organized by The Harvard Crimson, the student newspaper of Harvard University. This competition is a unique chance to showcase your writing, work with professional editors, and gain global recognition.
🔴Language and English Proficiency
✅All essays must be written in English.
✅Participants should have an English level of IELTS 6.0 or higher.
✅Non-native speakers can compete for a special English as a Second Language (ESL) Award.
📕 Essay Categories
1️⃣ Creative Writing: Short stories or narrative essays.
2️⃣ Argumentative Essay: Analysis and persuasion on current topics.
3️⃣ Journalistic Writing: Reports, features, or analytical articles.
