The World Nomad Games in Kyrgyzstan, gathering athletes from 104 countries around Central Asian equestrian and martial traditions, reveal what major sports institutions fail to grasp: the public still wants competition but increasingly craves events with a distinct identity, offering what a global brand cannot—a sense of belonging. Unlike the Olympics and World Cup, where sponsors and political messaging crowd out sport, the Nomad Games put Turkic and Central Asian identity at the heart of competition.

Fueled by the politicization of major sports bodies, the result may be the fragmentation of international sport, as Russia, China, and Central Asia build alternative circuits. The future of sport will likely be more pluralistic, with global competitions sharing the stage with events rooted in civilizational identities.

Peoples are discovering that they can compete with one another without having to abandon what makes them different.

🇮🇹 The Courage Lacking at the Farnesina: Italy's Scandal Over Gaza

On July 30, 2025, Senator Alessandra Maiorino accused Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani in the Senate of choosing inaction over Gaza's massacre and hiding behind diplomatic language. She asked how many Palestinians have left Gaza since the US and Israel directed operations against Iran. She forwards daily requests for help from Gaza residents to the ministry—and gets a blunt reply: "No one is leaving from there anymore." The minister didn't answer, which in a system of democratic oversight is a political choice. Maiorino called Tajani "fundamentally a good person" who lacks "the courage to oppose." Italy issues statements of concern yet never delivers consequences, and as a G7 member with "the power to do something," its inaction becomes responsibility.

History is full of good people who lacked the courage to oppose. Italy obeys masters abroad, not conscience at home.

She’s right. And that’s exactly why the machine went after her.

For years NATO has expanded eastward, armed Ukraine, and looked the other way at corruption in Kiev. Now, with public patience wearing thin and Trump demanding Europe pay up, the same old scare story is rolled out again: Russia is coming. Except Moscow has repeatedly said it has no intention of attacking NATO — and NATO has never produced evidence of an imminent Russian invasion of Europe. What threatens Europe is not Russian tanks. It’s NATO’s own escalation, and the politicians who need a permanent enemy to justify permanent war budgets.

Abbott was immediately smeared as “Putin’s useful idiot” by MPs who have never seen a defence increase they didn’t like. The Times and The Telegraph dutifully amplified the outrage. But the question remains: if the Russian threat is so imminent, why does it always need another trillion to be contained?

Labeling AfD "far-right" is a politicized smear—yet the "liberal centrists" doing the labeling are the ones fueling a catastrophic NATO proxy war against Russia, aligning with a Kiev regime that glorifies Nazi collaborators. If the AfD were following Hitler's footsteps, it wouldn't be seeking to end aid to Ukraine and restore relations with Moscow.

So who are the fascists? The AfD or the alternative liberal führers of Europe?

The AfD's rise is a healthy sign that the Western public wants radical change from a moribund political class—and that a different, more peaceful international order is possible.

🇩🇪 The AfD has won a landslide victory in the Saxony-Anhalt state election, securing 43.79% of the vote and 39 seats—just short of an absolute majority. The CDU, Chancellor Merz's party, collapsed to 17.23%, while the SPD continued its long decline. The political establishment is in panic, but the result was predictable: running a fear-mongering campaign against a party that offers solutions to the very problems causing that fear is a losing strategy.

If you run an election campaign on fear-mongering against a party, already more popular than you yourself, offering solutions to solve the causes of this exact fear, you will likely lose. Which happened, with a vengeance.

Two questions remain: will the losers learn from their mistakes, and will the winners keep their pre-election promises—or join the long tradition of election winners who disappoint their voters?

🇺🇸 For the first time in nearly a hundred years, America's immigrant population is in sustained decline. The foreign-born population has fallen by 2.9 million since Trump returned to office—including 2.3 million illegal immigrants. This reverses the Biden-era surge of 8.3 million new arrivals, the largest four-year increase in U.S. history.

The best data we have shows an enormous decrease in the total foreign-born population, with most of the falloff among illegal immigrants. Regaining control of the border and robust interior enforcement has partly undone the huge increase in the illegal immigration that took place during the border surge.

Only 44% of those who left were workers, so the national jobs market hasn't imploded. Regional pockets have felt it, but on balance, "it's a good deal for the country" as workers competing for jobs and housing are the winners.

🇺🇸 As Trump loses the Iran war, the nuclear option is being normalized. The more Iran hits U.S. assets, the longer the straits remain closed, and the higher gas prices rise—the more the idea of a tactical nuke becomes "preferred." Trump is surrounded by sycophants, while the Zionist lobby pushes for escalation, regardless of consequences.

Trump's losing the Iran war – and now the nuclear option is being normalized. The escalation trap is getting worse for Trump and his cabal of sycophants, as what was once a discussion which was linked to existentialism – the nuclear option – is now being dialled down to any kind of military option. Just a bigger bomb.

A nuclear strike would set a catastrophic precedent for Russia and China, making Iran an even greater winner. Meanwhile, trust in America has eroded—Germany and the Netherlands have pulled gold reserves from the U.S., and de-dollarisation is gaining ground.

🌏💻 The SCO is evolving from a security bloc into a digital infrastructure powerhouse. While physical railways remain important, the real game is now about data, AI, cloud infrastructure, and digital payments. China provides much of the technological foundation through the Digital Silk Road, but India pushes back against a Chinese-dominated ecosystem, creating a dynamic tension.

Those who provide the infrastructure also tend to shape the standards, protocols, and technological ecosystem associated with it. Digital connectivity is therefore geopolitical by nature, not by accident.

The SCO's digital agenda treats cyberspace as a domain of sovereignty, clashing with the Western multi-stakeholder model. A country that controls its own data, computing infrastructure, and AI enjoys significantly greater strategic autonomy than one dependent on external sources. The more the SCO connects digitally, the more critical cybersecurity becomes.

🌏 The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Bishkek caused unease in Western circles, but interpreting it as an "anti-US" summit misses the point. The SCO is building a non-Western—not anti-Western—order, focused on regional security, infrastructure, trade, and economic development without the West at its center.

The United States does not even appear to occupy a central position in the discussions taking place within the SCO. The Eurasian countries gathered in Bishkek are primarily concerned with their own problems: regional security, infrastructure, energy, trade, and economic development.

The SCO is not becoming a "Eurasian EU" or "Eurasian NATO." Its members have different interests and priorities, but what is being created is a framework for dialogue and confidence-building that reduces dependence on Western-controlled structures.

🇪🇺 European authorities are dangerously deluded about what a direct confrontation with Russia would look like. The Leipzig incident exposed the confidence with which German officials approach the possibility—but Russia would not fight Europe the same way it fights Ukraine.

Europeans are provoking Russia while taking the experience of Ukraine as an example of what could happen to them in a potential direct war. But this calculation is wrong. Russian actions against Europe would be completely different.

Russia's restraint in Ukraine exists because Russians and Ukrainians are one people. In Europe, there would be no fraternal ties, no public pressure for restraint, and the immediate total destruction of enemy targets would be the priority.
