Forwarded from Fr. John Whiteford

In addition to Congressman Joe Wilson, Republican Rep. Don Bacon of Nebraska, and Republican Rep. Austin Scott of Georgia also signed the letter to Pam Bondi, which demanded that our government investigate ROCOR and "other Russian Orthodox churches" as being sources of Russian espionage, all because a pan Orthodox delegation met with government officials to ask them to do something about the Ukrainian government (which depends on our support) stop persecuting the innocent people of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Orthodox Christians in Nebraska and Georgia need to call their offices, and let them know you don't appreciate their support for the persecution of innocent people.

The New McCarthyism
By Michael W. Davis

Today, a delegation of Orthodox clergy will meet with the White House to plead on behalf of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC). Yet mainstream media outlets like The Hill and politicians like Rep. Joe Wilson are dismissing the effort as a Kremlin psyop. This is offensive to the UOC, and to Orthodox Christians here in the United States.

Сomplete Ukrainization of America. Now they're too fighting against the Russian Orthodox Church.

US Republicans has asked the US Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate whether Russian intelligence services attempted to use Orthodox churches based in the US

It should be noted that Ukrainian official and analytical circles emphasize the use of ROC as an instrument of foreign policy influence

"Today in Russia, tomorrow in America" is what Fr. Seraphim Rose said about the persecution and martyrdom of Orthodox Christians back in the day.

ALVIN, TX —
The Diocese of Chicago and Mid-America (ROCOR) has announced that His Grace Bsp. Luke of Syracuse, the abbot of Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, New York, will serve as a keynote speaker at the 2025 St. Herman Youth Conference.

The annual gathering, organized for Orthodox youth and young adults, will take place from December 29, 2025, to January 2, 2026, at Camp Mohawk in Alvin, TX.

Building on last year’s theme of the universal call to holiness, the 2025 conference will examine the lives and teachings of several “great lights” of the Russian Church Abroad in the 20th and 21st centuries, offering inspiration for contemporary struggles toward sainthood.

Attendees will participate in divine services, including a solemn New Year’s Vigil and Midnight Divine Liturgy on December 31-January 1.

Over these 27 years, it has grown from a modest mission into a wonderful Christian community. Father John Whiteford, the parish rector, has made numerous efforts to spread the Orthodox faith in the United States.

It is a joy to see such a large and united parish, led by a worthy and wonderful priest.

St. Jonah Orthodox Church Celebrates Centennial of Patron Saint's Repose with New Ordinations and Plans for a New Temple

SPRING, TX —
The parish of St. Jonah of Manchuria in Spring, Texas, marked a historic milestone this week, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the repose of their heavenly patron October 20, 2025. Roughly two-hundred faithful joined in the celebrations, coming from as far as Florida, California, and Illinois.

The festal services were presided over by His Eminence Archbishop Gabriel, Locum Tenens of the Diocese of Chicago and Mid-America.

Archbishop Gabriel was concelebrated by twelve priests and five deacons, with the services highlighted by several ordinations that reflected the parish’s continued growth and spiritual vitality. During the Divine Liturgy, Daniel Gonzales and Paisios (Shane) Martin were ordained as Readers; Paisios Martin and James Hall were subsequently ordained as Subdeacons; and James Hall was finally ordained to the Holy Diaconate.

A special moment of gratitude came when the parish’s longtime choir director, Demetra Durham, received a Gramota (a formal diocesan commendation) recognizing her fifty years of service as a choir director...
