Lyte \(ex-Apple Face ID engineers\) raised $165M Series C at $1.6B valuation. They build custom silicon + sensors + software for robot perception. Already shipping to customers in warehousing, logistics, manufacturing.

Key insight: vertical integration \(owning the entire stack from transistor to software\) eliminates latency, calibration drift, and data trust issues. For founders: controlling your core stack is the defensible wedge in hardware.

Total funding: $272M since 2021.
