For hours, all he could hear was goo bubbles. . . Twirling, growing, and burping, bursting in the darkness, the thick heavy silk-fleshy black goo. Everywhere around him. For hours. The sizzling tickles crawling up and down his scales. For hours, and hours, and hours. The only sensation he was not deprived of in this. . . this . . . where the hell was the madman keeping him? For hours, Grrgrr was restricted from any kind of interaction with the outside reality. He was firmly locked inside his own mindspace and it was driving him nuts.

The darn doctor. He was doing something to GrrGrr. What was his name again? Doctor "A", he said. Grrgrr was his fucking puppet, a pathetic blind worm on a hook. And he didn't even know his captor's name. He doubted even the Board members knew.

The burping gooey bubbles bubbled, burped and bursted. He waited in the madman's lair for Goddess only knew how long. He was a joke. A voiceless, motionless "who the fuck cares about that little bitch?" What an utter shame, Grrgrr thought, what an insult! He was a respected specialist! A top manager! A prodigy! A sparkling talent in the barren land of incarceration practices! A conference speaker! A practical innovator! He should be respected! He cannot, no, he must not! He must not be treated this way!

"Wakey-wakey!"

At last! The outside world formed around Grrgrr. He was almost glad to hear the madman's voice, the smooth low-pitch beginning of his phrases, and the funny musical raise of his tone at the end, "Rise and shine, Warden! We’ve got a hell of a busy day ahead, you and I! Heard the news from the prison board yet? Congratulations, Warden Zuhn, cause you have just been promoted! Aren't you the lucky one! Hang on now, this is going to sting a little. . ."

A thousand hot needles pierced multiple holes through his skull. Thousands of them! All at once. It felt like his brain was combusting inside of his head. He tried screaming, but without voice, his screams sounded like a screech of a faulty old mechanical engine. He was pathetic. Pathetic. Sold like a slave to be experimented on! Goddess, have mercy and kill me already!

"Now, now," the madman shushed him. "See? It's all over."

The pain stopped. Grrgrr slumped in relief. He could feel more of his body now. He tried wiggling the tip of his tail. He managed to do just that and no more. The twirling gooey bubbles were still there, around him, a thick greasy membrane, shielding him from the laws of outside physics.

"Aah, yes, you must be wondering, why is it that you’ve been so rudely incapacitated. See, I had to shut down most of your neural functions for the duration of our journey. All for your own safety, Warden! I had to preserve that wonderful special mind of yours . . . I couldn’t risk getting it. . . wronged by my rather unconventional traveling habits." He gave a low chuckle. " Worry not, Warden Zuhn, I expect all your functions to recover shortly."

Grrgrr panicked. There must be a way out. A way to stop this insulting violation of his mind and body! Vongz! Yes, Grrgrr needs to get the word out to him! Vongz could get him out! He knows people. Important people! People, who can save Grrgrr from this creep! He wanted OUT! OUT! OUT!
