OPEN THE BORDERS | #OpenTheBorders
On September 21st, Vladimir Putin signed a decree that announced immediate partial mobilization. According to Sergey Shoigu, about 300,000 reserve soldiers can be drafted into the War all throughout the country. Other sources say that it is in the plan to draft one million Russians.
There were anti-mobilization protests across the country the same day. According to data of OVD-info, more than 1,000 people were arrested.
And while terrified Russian citizens are trying to influence Putin’s aggression in Ukraine and save their lives as well as the lives of the Ukrainian people, the Czech Republic, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, and Finland refuse asylum to people escaping from mobilization. Thereby significantly helping Putin to send as many people as possible to “military operation”.
Interior Minister of Estonia Lauri Läänemets stated that Russians should feel the pain. This, according to his opinion, should put pressure on the country’s leadership.
However, European “progressive” officials do not take into account one very important thing: it is very difficult to change the government when you are dead. Russian government drags mobilized citizens to slaughter. But the governments of the Czech Republic, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, and Finland were buying gas from Putin with no pangs of conscience, by sponsoring tortures and murders of Russian opposition. This time they put them in grave danger again. Western counties did nothing when Nemtsov was murdered, and they did nothing when political prisoners were tortured in jails. They only were pumping Putin with money, so he could continue doing those things.
Those people, whose only chance to stay alive is through immigration, will not be allowed. Instead, Putin’s elite will continue going on vacation with no problems.
It is an essential aspect of getting the message to Europeans to save as many people as possible from death. Because they can influence the decision of their government.
We encourage you to write the demands to open the borders for Russian people escaping the mobilization in different languages on social media.
This message may be addressed to European officials directly as well as to European citizens as a whole. We also offer to put a hashtag #OpenTheBorders - this way information flow will become more visible.
Say no to mobilization!
