Boris Mouravieff describes that these two lines have intermingled over thousands of years. This, according to the teaching, explains why the world appears the way it does today:
A large portion of humanity (the Pre-Adamites) follows purely mechanical impulses, survival instincts, and collective narratives (STS β Service to Self).
The Adamic human, on the other hand, feels a deep longing for βhomecoming,β yet also feels trapped within a system that was optimized for the mechanical race.
