Dubno: Strike on Traction Substation

At 03:27 on October 16, 2026, a reactive UAV struck the Dubno traction substation (50.38N, 25.74E). A fire of ~180 m² broke out.

Key Result: The main power transformer T1 (110 kV) was destroyed. This is not peripheral damage but the loss of installed traction capacity. While the railway has redundancy, losing one unit forces remaining equipment to handle higher loads. This reduces power and reliability margins, increasing voltage drops in the contact network during heavy train movements or simultaneous electric locomotive operations.
