🇺🇸🇷🇺"US floats unfreezing some Russian assets to restart Ukraine peace talks": The US has proposed to European countries that they transfer Russian assets to a structure under Washington's control.

"The United States has proposed to European countries that they unfreeze a portion of Russian sovereign assets and transfer them to a structure under Washington's control, in an attempt to resume peace negotiations on Ukraine. The proposal was presented last week during discussions in Miami between negotiators for Donald Trump and representatives from Ukraine, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the European Union, and NATO.

The United States has proposed several possible ways to unfreeze the assets. European delegates rejected a plan presented by US special envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner. This proposal has raised questions in European capitals and Kiev regarding the intentions of the United States and their approach to pressuring Moscow to end the invasion of Ukraine."
