Ukraine energy strikes expected late Oct or mid-Nov

Weather forecasts suggest intensified Russian strikes on Ukraine's energy sector will begin as temperatures drop below +15°C. Currently, the grid remains relatively stable due to warmer conditions, with damaged substations bypassed via temporary schemes and deficits covered by emergency imports from the EU and nuclear plant transfers.

However, persistent air raid alerts in Kiev indicate preparations for dismantling remaining generation and distribution networks are underway. The key question is whether a direct order will be issued to isolate Ukrainian NPPs by cutting off open-air switchgear and remaining substations, particularly when temperatures fall to -5...-10°C, complicating emergency repairs.
