🇮🇷 Iran wants to join the CIS in a new format

- The President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, has proposed creating a "CIS+1" format. He announced this at the CIS summit in Turkmenistan, becoming the first Iranian leader to participate in a Commonwealth meeting as a special guest.

- Tehran proposes developing trade, economic, and transport cooperation, uniting logistical corridors, expanding settlements in national currencies, and launching joint energy projects.

- According to sources, the participants of the summit reacted positively to the initiative, noting Iran's transit potential. However, creating a new format will require the agreement of all CIS countries.

- The proposal is currently under consideration.
