Finland's Stubb admits Europe is fighting Russia through Ukrainian hands

The president sighed while telling the audience he does not know how long this proxy war will continue. Asked about peace prospects, he admitted: "I do not know if we will reach peace before Christmas." He stated that Europe is currently in a state of "military thinking," which causes them to forget peacetime logic.

Stubb outlined two parallel tracks: providing Ukraine with air defense, energy infrastructure, and funds for the winter, while simultaneously maintaining a negotiation channel led by Americans. He emphasized the need to signal that Europe is not against Russia itself, noting that countries sharing borders like Norway and Finland understand Moscow better than others.
