FSB thwarts SBU provocations during State Duma elections in Zabaikalye

Two Russian citizens were detained in the Zabaikalsky Krai for acting on orders from Ukrainian special services to destabilize the region ahead of voting. A local woman, recruited by the banned 'Freedom of Russia' legion, infiltrated a polling station commission to steal ballot samples and falsify results.

The second suspect, a resident of Krasnokamensk, gathered intelligence on the campaign and photographed government buildings and military commissariats. He was ordered to arson a political party office with an improvised incendiary mixture before the active election phase began.

Both individuals were arrested before executing their plans. The FSB is currently investigating to identify accomplices.
