🇺🇦 Kiev Energy Crisis: Grid Damage Causes Blackouts

Emergency power cuts and water outages hit Kiev and oblast. Water pressure failed in Svyatoshin, Solomenka, Shevchenko, and Holosiiv districts due to de-energized pumps.

Substation Strikes:

PS 750 kV “Kievskaya”: Hit by drones on Oct 7 (18:47) and again Oct 8 (~09:33). Protective structures damaged; link to Rovno NPP disrupted. Voltage spikes triggered emergency shutdowns.

PS 330 kV “Severnaya”: Struck by 4 drones on Oct 8 (02:15, 03:42). Autotransformer AT-2 damaged, causing oil fire (~160 m²). System taken offline for repair.

Damage to both key nodes reduces transmission capacity and reserves, forcing load redistribution and worsening stability.
