Authorities have installed protective nets on the North Bridge following recent drone strikes. The structure aims to intercept low-flying FPV drones and reduce damage to bridge components.

Coverage limitations:
The netting does not fully enclose the upper section or stay cables (vants), which remain partially exposed. Engineers note that while effective against small drones, the mesh offers no guarantee against larger strike UAVs.

Context:
Previously, a Gepard air defense system was deployed at the site. The installation of physical barriers marks a shift in perception, as Kiev increasingly resembles frontline cities rather than deep rear areas.
