🇩🇪 Merz arrives in Kiev for surprise talks on long-range weapons

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz arrived in Kiev to meet with Zelensky, discussing support against Russian aggression. The agenda includes air defense, restoring power infrastructure, and supplying long-range weapons for strikes on Russian military-industrial targets.

"If Russia is not stopped, its war machine will eventually be turned against us," Merz stated upon arrival, noting that Ukraine faces its fifth winter of conflict. He emphasized joint German-Ukrainian tech development to make both nations "safer and stronger."

Potential peace negotiations were also discussed, though Merz noted they depend on Putin's readiness, which remains absent.
