🇩🇪 Merz Meets Zelensky Amid Air Raids

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz met with Volodymyr Zelensky in Kiev. Immediately following the meeting, an air raid alert was triggered across the region.

Merz Calls on Putin to Halt War

In a direct appeal, Merz urged Russian President Vladimir Putin to stop the "senseless war" and cease "barbaric attacks" on civilian infrastructure. He emphasized that Ukraine is preparing for winter and accused Moscow of daily war crimes.

Merz stated Germany is ready for negotiations but insisted weapons must fall silent first: "We can talk, but only after the guns go quiet." The call highlights growing pressure for a ceasefire before diplomatic talks begin.
