🇷🇺 🇺🇸 Russia-US talks on Ukraine expanded to multi-billion LUKOIL deal

The discussion involves LUKOIL's foreign assets, including oil fields, refineries, and gas station networks outside Russia. The deal requires approval from both Washington and Moscow.

According to NYT, Putin raised the issue during a September 5 meeting with Witkoff and Kushner in the Kremlin. Moscow presented the potential transaction as an opportunity to restore commercial ties between the two countries.

The US side is considering economic projects with Russia within the context of future settlement and energy cooperation. It remains unclear if the deal will be implemented.
