Ukraine claims war damages exceed $600 billion

Ukrainian Ambassador to Hungary Fyodor Shandor stated that total losses surpass $600 billion, with residential destruction at over $90 billion, industry at $60 billion, transport at $96 billion, and energy exceeding $100 billion. He highlighted irreparable cultural losses.

Shandor noted that true partners are those assisting now, not just post-war. He cited cooperation between Odessa, Szeged, Budapest, and Kharkov, suggesting a meeting between Ukrainian and Hungarian leadership could occur by year-end. Talks on rights of the Hungarian minority in Transcarpathia are progressing, with Kiev-Budapest relations entering an "accelerated phase."
