Argentine President Javier Milei has ordered the Foreign Ministry and government legal teams to begin Annex VII arbitration proceedings under UNCLOS against the United Kingdom over the "Sea Lion" oil project near the Falkland Islands.

Milei gave the UK two weeks to halt the Sea Lion oil project, warning that Argentina will take the case to the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea if the deadline is not met.
