UK: Third town considers independence referendum over migrant camps

Residents of Crowborough in Sussex are discussing a symbolic "exit from the UK" referendum after a nearby former military camp was converted into an asylum center. The local group Crowborough Shield has sued the Home Office, claiming the decision to house up to 540 male asylum seekers was illegal.

A similar protest occurred in Piddington, Oxfordshire, where residents voted for symbolic secession due to plans to accommodate up to 1,256 migrants. Locals complain about insufficient infrastructure and security, while the Home Office states it is closing hotels to move people to more suitable locations.
