British police announce a "major incident" near RAF Fairford, an air base which hosts the US Air Force, saying that a number of homes in the area have been evacuated.

Gloucestershire County Police announce the tightening of security measures at the base and the arrest of several people in relation to the Possession of Explosive Substances Act.

According to Sky News, the British Army's specialized ammunition and explosives disposal team is also examining a number of vehicles in this area.
