A more complete version of this report can be found in the chronicles of Ibn ʿAsākir wherein ʿAlī b. al-Ḥusayn narrates from his father, al-Ḥusayn, an account of John the Baptist’s killing at the hands of Herodias and her daughter Salome.

See Taʾrīkh Madīnat al-Dimashq (ed. al-ʿAmrawī), v. 64, pp. 206-207 (https://shamela.ws/book/71/29586), and compare to the account found in  the Gospel of Mark 6:17-28.
