I broke up with bytha because somewhere along the way, being together started feeling more exhausting than comforting. We kept trying to fix the same problems, having the same conversations, and promising that things would get better, but somehow we always ended up back in the same place. I still cared about bytha, and that was probably what made leaving so difficult. but I eventually realized that holding on to someone I loved didn’t mean I had to keep hurting myself just to make the relationship work. there wasn’t one big reason or one person to blame we simply reached a point where loving each other wasn’t enough to make us happy anymore. so I chose to let go, even though a part of me still wished things could have been different.
