The Kempner Institute for the Study of Natural and Artificial Intelligence at Harvard University is excited to announce that applications are now open for Kempner Research Fellowships! The 3-year fellowship provides a generous stipend, funding for research, and access to our GPU cluster. We seek candidates who are working on the following areas:

1. Foundations of intelligence, including mathematical and computational models of intelligence, cognitive theories of intelligence, and the neurobiological basis of intelligence.

2. Research and development of new AI or ML methodologies or models from an engineering perspective, as well as scientific studies focused on understanding deep learning. This includes the development of novel applications of artificial intelligence, covering areas such as LLMs, generative AI models, computational biology, and the analysis of high-dimensional neural and behavioral data.

Eligibility: Final-year Ph.D. students, or Ph.D. awarded between 9/1/2023 and 9/1/2026.
