水獭改变河流,成为强大的碳汇
研究表明,水獭可能成为气候变化的不起眼英雄。通过建造水坝并将流域转变为湿地,水獭重塑了碳在景观中的移动和储存方式。仅仅13年,瑞士的一片由水獭改造的湿地就储存了超过1000吨的碳,甚至比没有水獭的相似区域多10倍。
